North Avenue Rising
The Maryland Transit Administration and Baltimore City submitted a successful joint application to the U.S. DOT Transportation Investments Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) program to support a $27.3 million program of improvements to the North Avenue corridor. The North Avenue Rising project is a unique suite of proposed transportation investments intended to improve corridor and regional mobility and leverage these transportation improvements with other City, State, and private development initiatives to revitalize the surrounding area. North Avenue Rising includes dedicated bus lanes, new bike facilities, enhancing MTA Metro and Light Rail stations, targeted improvements at major bus stops, improved sidewalks, streetscaping, and needed roadway re-pavement along the corridor.
